Perfect Sense

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

Here's a trailer for Ewan McGregor and Eva Green's new movie. Not just posted because I want to have Eva Green's babies, but also because it looks very good. Looks a bit 28 Days Later crossed with a romantic drama. Very cool.

It's not cold in here, you're just dying!

I love Sarah Silverman. This is one of the few of her jokes/songs that I can probably post out of context that wouldn't be horrifcally offensive. That's just how her comedy works.

Justified

Coming soon to the UK on Five USA is this great show called "Justified". Based on an Elmore Leonard character, it brings that trademark coolness of his to the small screen. Starring Timothy Olyphant as a US Marshal, this has quickly become one of my favourite shows. I love cowboys and this guy is a modern day Sheriff, living by an older code of honour. When I was a kid, all I wanted to be was a Sheriff. (Sadly, fate had other ideas and I was born in the UK and doomed to work in the hotel industry.) In typical Elmore Leonard style, even losers get to look cool and get to trade awesome lines of witty dialogue with Marshal Raylan Givens. Anything set in the deep south is going to get my attention, just like True Blood. There is just something very cool and sexy about that accent. A common misconception about the Southern states is that everyone is a redneck bumpkin, but a shedload of great American cultural icons originated there and it strikes me as being a vey diverse place. I'd love to live there, just for the music. Many of my favourite things in the whole world come from there. The greatest of course being Jack Daniels!

Another wonderful product of the great state of Tennessee would be our Mrs. Reynolds, AKA Joan from "Mad Men", Christina Hendricks.

I hope I get to see her play a southern belle on "Justified" soon. Seems like a no-brainer to ask her to guest star!

This is a thing of beauty.
I appreciate European style too. If money was no object, of all the cars in the world, I would dearly love a Citroen SM. It looks like a spaceship! It was truly ahead of it's time, featuring many technical innovations and a unique style that I have yet to see bettered.

And for no other other reason than she is also French and just as unique, here's some pics of Eva Green. I suspect she may well be the most perfect woman in the world. Apart from her striking looks, her performances always manage to be very different from other contempory actresses.

Orc Stain

A piece of art by Jame Stokoe, from his comic book "Orc Stain". Just one single frame will have the same insane amount of detail as one of his bigger drawings like this one.

And yes, those are Orc winkies tied to his waist. In the Orc world, "gronches" are currency, hence the poor eviscerated chap in the background undergoing the rather painful transaction!

Power Valkyrie

Viking Power Girl!

Kowloon Walled City

This cross-section drawing of the Kowloon Walled city is fascinating. There is something strangely appealing about the place and I feel a little sad it no longer exists.

Power Girl

My fave Superhero? Power Girl. Here's a couple of my favourite pics of her on deviantart.

One of the best fanarts I've ever seen. Could easily be a cover piece.

I adore the simplicity and almost gladitorial style of PG's costume, but this would make for an awesome cotume for her

TRON Power Girl
by *CallMePo on deviantART

I love Tron, and with the release of Legacy, it's gone tie-in mad which has gotten a bit tacky. This one merges one of my favourite movies with my favourite hero though so I'll let this one slide. I love her sunglasses.

Just found it in google images. It's by Alex Lei. I love how her hair is very much like her original look.

Doesn't get much better than Amanda Conner's take on her. All 12 issues of Jimmy Palmiotti and Conner's run are now available in trade paperback and are well worth getting if you like comics to be fun. Judd Winnick recently took over. Took a few issues but I'm warming to his style. The art isn't a patch on Amanda's though.

Bugatti

VW recently announced that from 2014, Bugatti won't be making sports cars anymore and will be sticking to luxury sedans once their new Galibier is out. Now, since they've arguabably produced the greatest Supercar ever, I can kind of see their point, but it does seem a shame to restrict the marque. They've don't have to go the Veyron route, they could try to make the worlds greatest two-seater roadster for example. Go a bit smaller, but with the same quality. Oh well, not that I could ever afford a Bugatti, whatever form they take!

I didn't include the rear view. It has 8 exhausts. I figure if I don't link those photos, then they don't exist! I do like that interior. I had a BMW once which had some wooden decking on the centre console. Don't need cupholders when you have a table!

I doubt many of these will end up with a MaccyD's resting on that very polished surface though...
